VLSI Solution's Integrated software Development Environment VSIDE has been updated to v2.48. Libraries and .h files have been updated particularly for VS1010 and VS1005. Additionally, a new, more stable C Compiler and templates for the VS1005 multitasking operating system VSOS 3.63 are included.

The VS1005 operating system VSOS 3.63 has been released. Among other things, it automatically recognizes if External Flash is 2, 4, 8, or 16 MiB in size.

A DSP algorithm, a Pitch / Speed Shifter has been ported from the VS1005 to the VS1010. The Pitch / Speed shifter allows for independent control of an MP3 file's playback speed and pitch. It can be used in various applications, including but not limited to:

• DJ usage where it is very useful to be able to control playback speed and pitch independently.
• Language learning where adjusting speed without affecting pitch is very useful.
• Audio book devices where speed control without affecting pitch is convenient.
• Karaoke devices where pitch control can be used to match the range of the karaoke singer.

The VS1005 operating system VSOS 3.61 has been released. This version recognizes the Internal/External SPI FLASH file system also if the device has been partitioned. It also makes it possible to modify kernel debug level from the command line.
